L'Oreal Wrinkle Expert 45+ Day/ Night Moisturizer (gifted)

I LOVED this moisturizer! I have never looked to L'Oreal for my skincare before, just their makeup but this moisturizer was as good as high-end products in my opinion. It was really hydrating and made my skin feel great, and it's SO affordable! Now I want to try the one for 55+ even though I'm not over 55 yet, but the more antiaging the better as far as I'm concerned. Seems that drugstore skincare has really stepped up their game! I was also blown away by Cetaphil's new moisturizer! L'Oreal Can be purchased HERE.

Paula's Choice Resist Moisture Renewal Oil Booster 

I love using oils to seal in my serums and moisturizers. This oil booster has a blend of oils plus ceramides and argan oil. I do like this oil but I feel like any oil gives me the same effect, whether it be argan, almond oil, or avocado oil which are a few of my favourites, and they can be purchased in large quantities at low prices. I usually get mine on iHerb as they are usually even cheaper there. Paula's Choice is linked HERE.

Organic Nation More Than Rose Hydration Mist (gifted)

This is a gorgeous rose toner that's just about as organic as you can get. It's packed with amazing, skin-loving ingredients. I found it very soothing and hydrating and the scent was gorgeous! I love using it to set my makeup and to layer my skincare for better absorption. If it was more accessible and priced lower, I would definitely purchase it. Can be purchased HERE.

Eco Tools Mask Remover Sponges

I adore these sponges. I don't just use them to remove my face masks, I also use them when I cleanse my face and remove my makeup. They are so gentle on my skin but help to remove all traces of dirt and makeup, plus, I get a bit of exfoliation with them. They are made of the same materials used in high-end spas! They are so cheap on iHerb and I'm always stocking up! I replace mine every few months. Can be purchased HERE.

Simon & Tom BB Cream All-in-one Beautifying Balm SPF 15 (Light)

I loved this BB cream! I needed the tiniest amount and it evened out my skin tone and it looked like my skin but better! The only issue for me was that it's too dark for me and this was the shade light :( It lasted forever, too! Can be purchased HERE.

Repurchase- Even though the light is too dark for me, I still may repurchase as I was able to make it work by applying very little. I loved the effect on my skin!

Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer

Tinted brow fibres are my preferred way to groom my brows. Unfortunately, I could not make this product work for me. The brush is just too large for me. I always ended up with too much product and it would end up all other my eye area and I'd have to clean it up. I went back to my favourite one by Essence. The Maybelline one has great reviews, so perhaps it's user error. Can be purchased HERE.

Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in I Lilac You

I am decluttering this polish. It looks more like a baby blue on me. Every time I put it on, I immediately want to take it off. So it has to go! I think it would suit someone with a darker skin tone.

Cocoa Locks Chocolate Hair Shake (gifted)

I adore this product! I had amazing results with it. I was losing heaps of hair and once I started the Cocoa Locks, the shedding stopped. I have before and after pics and a full review here. This stuff is the real deal. I was grateful to receive it in PR but unfortunately, it's not in my current budget.  Note: there is also a Hot Chocolate version. Both are good! Can be purchased HERE.

GNC SuperFoods Ultra Mega-Green Women's Whole Food Advanced Multivitamin
This was my first time purchasing this multivitamin. It was on sale, so I decided to give it a shot. I also read that GNC had met many standards through 3rd party testing. I have to say, I was impressed. I felt good while taking these and noticed improvements with regularity right away. Can be purchased HERE.

Paradise Herbs Orac-Energy Greens 
This product won Best of Supplements. It has alkalizing greens plus freeze-dried berries and veggies, superfood concentrates, herbal adaptogens, probiotics and more! If you follow my blog, you've heard me talk about this product before. I purchased it for its claims to help with sleep. Although I did not notice an improvement with my sleep, it did make a significant difference with my daytime stress levels. I still have stress but not as much. Bach Flowers Rescue Night Spray
Although this product is certainly not a cure-all for my severe insomnia, it does seem to help somewhat so I always keep it on hand. Bach flowers have a very gentle and subtle action on the system. Would probably do wonders for those with less severe sleep issues. I even take a few sprays when I wake up and it often helps me go back to sleep. It's all natural and doesn't have any contraindications with medications. Can be purchased HERE.

Mercola Sleep Support With Melatonin
This has to be my best discovery for help with sleep in a LONG time! I can only imagine how it would help someone with less severe insomnia that what I have. The first night that I took it, I passed out almost immediately. My body gets used to things, so I no longer pass out immediately, but it does help. I did find that my magic dose is 2 sprays per night and the same if I wake in the middle of the night. The recommended dose is 6 sprays but you can customize it to your needs very easily. I use it every night in addition to other sleep aids. I always buy it in bulk! Can purchase HERE.

Hyalogic HyaFlex for Cats, Oral Hyaluronic Acid, Joint Care

This product is pricey but worth it. Within 2 hours after my cats first dose, he was charging around the house like a kitten. I give him half of the recommended dose to make it last longer. If I need to, I will up the dose but he seems fine with half the dose. There is also a formula for dogs (linked here). I cannot recommend this enough if you have an ageing pet or one who has joint issues. Can be purchased HERE.

The Best Natural Sleep Aid For Insomnia!

I've struggled with severe insomnia since 2002. I won't get into the reasons why it started but let's just say after a stressful life event triggered it, it just snowballed from there and took on a life of its own. Since then, I have resorted to every gadget, treatment, therapy, and natural product that I can get my hands on, always with the hope that I'll find "the one."

Over the years, I have found many things that work for me and someday I may share a quite extensive list of the ones that helped the most. There is no way I could include everything, just a variety of what has worked for me. My problem is that even though I find many things that help my insomnia, nothing sticks or keeps my sleep deep, long, and restful. For example, products like 5-HTP help with my sleep but if I take it too many days in a row, it starts to make my sleep MORE restless, so I have to keep switching it up and changing what I take to try and help with my sleep. The struggle is real!

Today, I need to share with you an exciting new product discovery for me as it may also help some of you, and I know there are so many people suffering from insomnia these days.

I came across this product by chance, I wasn't even looking for something for my sleep at the time. Well, I was but it was an eye mask as I have to sleep in total darkness. So I stumbled across this product in my search and I've been using it for a few weeks now with excellent results! Not perfect, but it's one of the best things, if not THE best thing that I've found for my sleep in a long time.

The great thing about this supplement is that it's very customizable in terms of how much or how little you take thanks to the spray dispenser. For example, a dose is considered 6 sprays but because I am very sensitive, I can take just one spray and wait and see and then another if I find I need more etc. This also makes it more economical for me.

Mercola Sleep Support

The supplement I'm talking about is by Dr. Mercola, it's called Sleep Support. It does contain a small amount of melatonin which I'm a fan of, but as much as I like melatonin and it does help me sleep at times, it can also have the tendency to make me wake prematurely ie, 3-4am. So, the fact that this has a very small dose of melatonin that is also customizable, allows me to take melatonin without experiencing the negative effects. This supplement has quite a unique blend of ingredients that are effective, and as I've said, very customizable in terms of dosage. It's pleasant to take and has a sweet raspberry flavour. I spray it under my tongue for best absorption and hold it there for a minute or two.

I've had great results so far and no aggravation or side effects. Although my sleep is far from perfect, this is definitely one of the best things that I've found for my sleep in a long time. I just have to play around with the dose and timing. It's pretty economical, especially if you are like me and take less than the full dose (I usually take between 1-3 sprays). If you suffer from insomnia too, you know that you can't put a price on a good night's sleep. If something works, I wouldn't care how much it costs! But, I am sick and tired of spending a ton of cash on things that don't work!

*Tip: If you wake up prematurely like I do (around. 3-4am), consider taking this product or any melatonin supplement upon awakening as that sometimes puts me back to sleep and may work for you. But, I don't recommend this if it's any later in the morning. Since I started this Sleep Support Supplement by Mercola, I haven't had to do this as I've been going back to sleep on my own!

Update: this morning I actually slept through the night and didn't wake up prematurely for the first time in a long time.

Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes
I love these wipes! They're very effective, non-irritating and a great value! I buy these at Costco or from Amazon.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water 
Love this product too! When I'm just too tired, I use it after a makeup wipe to remove any traces of makeup or dirt that's left on my skin. I also use it after a regular cleanse for the same reason.

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Reconstructing Butter
I think I got sucked into the packaging and the whole "butter" thing and the fact that this product claims " 90% of hair's strength reconstructed from root to tip." This was average for me but I have bleached and very frizzy hair. It would probably be effective for people with less damaged and frizzy hair.

Madre Labs CocCeps Instant Organic Dark Cocoa Beverage
I drink this product daily in my morning smoothie. It doesn't contain any sugar and it tastes delicious. I sweeten with Now Stevia. This product has immune boosting cordyceps and reishi mushroom powders! NO- you cannot taste them!

Webber Naturals Super Sleep
This is another fab product. The first time I tried it, I slept for 12 hours solid. Unfortunately, I no longer get that effect from it, but it does help me fall asleep. I have to be careful and not take it all the time as my sleep will become more restless if I use it every night and like most products with melatonin, they can cause me to wake up prematurely. I am extremely sensitive to most things. I think for the average person with normal sleep issues, this product would be fantastic. If you're like me, and sensitive, it's best to rotate this with other products for sleep. Note: This product contains melatonin, 5-HTP, and L-Theanine.

Jarrow Max DHA Fish Oil
This is my favourite fish oil and I've been taking it for years. I have tried many other fish oils but I keep coming back to this one. It has many health and beauty benefits!

Bach Remedies Rescue Night Homeopathic Spray
Another great product to help with sleep and it's super gentle. It doesn't interact with medications etc. This isn't something that's going to knock you out (to my knowledge and experience) but it takes the edge off and can help you fall asleep and go back to sleep if you wake up prematurely. If you don't like the spray featured here, they also come in lozenges although you get more for your money with this spray.

HyaFlex Hyaluronic Acid Joints for Pets
I've found that this product is really effective for cats with joint issues or as prevention. After giving it to my cat for the first time, he went absolutely crazy running around the house like a kitten 2 hours after the first dose. So, I've continued to give it to him and I notice his back area is less sensitive to the touch. I love that I can just put it into his wet food and it's tasteless so he gobbles it up. Because it's pricey, I'm going to try another product for joints and see how it goes. I may rotate this and the other product that I'm trying out. I'll have to see how it goes. If you are not concerned with the cost, I can't recommend this product enough. Tip: I gave my cat 1/2 the dose to make it last longer but it's also important to note that he was not diagnosed with any joint issues. I gave it to him more as prevention as he is aging, and I saw him benefit.

Badger Sleep Balm
This product is so old now that it's lost the scent. Of all the badger balms that I've tried, this is my favourite one. I find it very relaxing. It contains lavender, bergamot, rosemary, ginger, and balsam fir. I personally don't detect the scents of the last two essential oils listed.

Primal Defense HSO Probiotic Formula
I just finished up this product the day that I'm posting this which is why it didn't make it into the above photo. I've been using this product for 20 years now! It controls my IBS symptoms. You can read more about my IBS and how this has helped in this blog post.

Here's a little declutter/purge!

Essence Sun Club All in One Bronzing Highlighter *discontinued
I LOVE so many Essence products. And, I loved this product for the last few summers. I used it on lazy days as it would serve as blush, bronzer, and highlight all in one (as the name implies). I guess I never did an outdoor lighting check until the other day. In the outdoor lighting, I saw that this product accentuated the pores on my cheeks big time! From now on, I need to check my face in outdoor lighting before I decide to keep a product! 😁

Essence Lipstick in Nude Love *discontinued
This used to be a favourite of mine but I no longer reach for it. I've had it since May 2015 and it seems to accentuate the lines on my lips so it's time to say bye!

Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Warm Me Up
I've also had this lipstick since May 2015. It's such a gorgeous colour in the tube but shows up very dark on my lips. It's too dark of a shade for me and I never reach for it... so bye to this one too!

I should probably go through my lipsticks more thoroughly as I'm sure there is more to declutter due to age, plus, I tend to reach for the same few shades, although I do like to have some options. 😍

This is a newer find for me and it's hands down the best beauty sponge that I've ever used! I had planned on doing a post dedicated to it but it kept going out of stock and I didn't want to post about an item that you couldn't get. Home Health Goji Berry Eye Cream
Another favourite of mine. Only this one has been a favourite for many years. I've found one other eye cream that gives me the same results, only it's more than double the price, not cruelty-free, and not natural. This product IS cruelty-free, natural, and very effective. It helps to moisturize and reduce the appearance of my hooded eyes! It's approx. $10 and can be purchased here.

Essence Lash Princess Mascara
I had heard a lot of hype over this mascara, and for good reason, it's a fantastic mascara! I find it works best after the first week of opening it. It's so affordable at approx. $5CAD. I get great volume and length, and it doesn't smudge or flake. Essence is also cruelty-free! It can be purchased here.

Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Leave-on Mask
I received this product free for review. It was a good moisturizer and I didn't experience any breakouts or irritation. However, I have come across a new drugstore option that suits my aging, combo but very dehydrated skin much better (Spoiler- It's Cetaphil's new Night Cream!). Approx. $15 and can be purchased here.

BHI Calming Homeopathic Tablets
I've talked about this product on my site before. I've been using it for years to help with my insomnia. It's often the ticket to help me nod off or to help me go back to sleep if I wake up too early, and because it's homoeopathic, it doesn't have any contraindications. Webber Naturals Daytime Stress Formula
This product contains a herb called Rhodiola which I have been taking forever and a day! This is a combo formula so it also contains other herbs. I like the ingredients and its effects are very gentle, I didn't find it sedating at all so it is definitely good for use during the daytime. I think this may be discontinued as I couldn't find it online.

Equate Chromium GTF
I was taking this supplement to help with sugar metabolism and to assist with weight loss. Unfortunately, I found that it exacerbated my insomnia. I've given the balance away. Equate is a store brand. Chromium GTF is very affordable and can be purchased online here.

Nature's Bounty Sleep Gummies
I purchased these on a whim and I love them! I can only tolerate low doses of melatonin and this product contains 1.5mg of melatonin plus 100mg L-Theanine per gummy. The recommended dosage is 2 gummies but I just take one. I rotate this product with Webber Naturals Super Sleep which also contains melatonin but it also has 5-HTP. Approx. $10 and can be purchased here.

Jason Sea Fresh Strengthening Flouride and SLS Free Toothpaste

Adidas Cotton Tech Deodorant in Fitness Fresh
I've been using this product for too many years to count. It was the first deodorant that I was able to find that didn't contain aluminum. It may not be natural, but it works for me and I don't have to worry about the potential dangers of aluminum. This is a Coty product. Prices vary but I can usually pick it up at Shoppers Drug Mart here in Canada for approx. $5. Can be purchased online here.
