Biotherm Anti-Drying Body Milk Review

With the warmer weather here, we'll most likely be showing a little more skin, so it's the perfect time to combat any dry, flaky skin.  Biotherm's Anti-Drying Body Milk combats dry and flaky skin on contact and provides long-lasting hydration. This moisturizer is completely new to me, and it has quickly become an all-time favourite!

ABOUT:
  • This body milk's anti-drying properties rejuvenate the skin, while its blend of regenerating Biotech Plankton, anti-oxidizing Vitamin E and nourishing lipids smooth and delicately scent the skin.
  • "Repairs the skin barrier after the first use, providing 48 hour lasting hydration, reducing dryness by in 10 minutes. "

The first thing I noticed is that the light citrus scent is unbelievably delicious and oh, so relaxing! I'm instantly relaxed as soon as I get a whiff of it. And, in terms of moisturizing, it's seriously the best.  I've never used a moisturizer that was so lightweight yet so hydrating. I used to think I had to use the thickest creams to get the most hydration, but this Body Milk has proved me wrong. My dry and flaky skin is soft, hydrated immediately after application, and lasts all day. And, because it's lightweight and absorbs so well, I'm not left with any greasy residue.

I was also very pleasantly surprised when I noticed that after using this Body Milk for a short while, the little bumps on the backs of my upper arms disappeared!

The sleek, slimline bottle takes up little space, and the packaging has a fresh, appealing look that looks nice in my bathroom. The handy pump dispenser makes it very convenient and easy to use, and it can be locked in the closed position, making it great for travel or throwing in your gym bag.

Key ingredients:

Combining nourishing oils with hydrating Glycerin, Biotherm Body Milk lotion provides your skin with optimal hydration and elasticity. Antioxidant Vitamin E and regenerating Life Plankton™ are infused in this rich body moisturizer to deeply repair and smooth your skin.

Now in new and improved packaging with a bottle made of 100% recycled plastic, and is recyclable*.

This product is so luxurious that I feel like I'm practicing a little self-care every time I use it. From the heavenly scent to its superior moisturizing abilities, I'm recommending this moisturizer to everyone I know. And, thanks to the lightweight texture, this bottle should last for quite some time!

It's no wonder that it's Canada's number 1 premium body moisturizer. I'm seriously hooked!

Comfy and Cozy with Heat Holders® Scuff Slippers!

If there's one thing I hate, it's cold feet- in the literal sense of the word. My feet tend to run cold, especially with the air conditioning running all Summer long. 🥶

I often reach for socks when my feet are chilly, but sometimes, especially in the summer, I want some warmth but also want my feet to be able to breathe. Plus, I want something that I'm able to slip on and off with ease, especially with hot flashes that I've been experiencing. This is where Heat Holders Scuff Slippers came to save the day!

Heat Holders® is now making functional slippers–the perfect pairing to their thermal socks. Keep scrolling to learn more.

Heat Holders® Women's Scuff Slippers feel super soft, comfy and cozy thanks to the amazingly soft and cushioned interior with the HeatWeaver® lining. This special lining also keeps my feet nice and warm without getting too hot. When it's extra cold though, I can also pair them with my Heat Holders® socks when needed, which will also prolong the life of my socks.

I typically wear a women's size 9 (US) shoe and the women's 9-10 fit me perfectly, so I would say that they are true to size.

The slippers mould to my feet and they move with me when I walk thanks to their flexibility. I love the style as they are very versatile and seem to go with everything from Pjs, shorts, and leggings, you name it!  The neutral colours give them that minimal and classic look that will suit anyone of any age.

The Scuff Slippers are flexible yet sturdy thanks to the soft quilted upper and sturdy thermoplastic rubber sole.

Heat Holders® slippers are also designed for wearing with our class-leading thermal socks, and can help greatly prolong the life of your socks when worn on more abrasive surfaces.

The sturdy rubber sole makes it so they can be worn indoors as well as outdoors.  Perfect to run to the mailbox or take your furbaby out for a quick walk.

I love that Heat Holder® offers these slippers for both men and women. There are also other styles available that are just as fabulous!

Each pair of slippers come with this fabulous drawstring bag that is perfect to pack up your slippers with ease and take them on the go anytime you wish.

Healthy Foods To Eat To Live To 120 Years

Advancements in medicine and technology have increased the average lifespan in many parts of the world. However, with lifestyle changes, it is now possible to live beyond 100 years. Many individuals are interested in living a long, healthy life, and the first step towards achieving this is through nutrition. This article explores some of the foods to eat to live to 120 years.

  1. Vegetables and Fruits: Vegetables and fruits are essential components of a healthy diet. They contain vitamins, minerals, and fiber that are necessary for optimal health. The antioxidants in fruits and vegetables help to protect the body from oxidative stress caused by free radicals, which can lead to chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease. It is recommended to eat at least five servings of vegetables and fruits every day.

  2. Whole Grains: Whole grains are an excellent source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. They also contain complex carbohydrates that provide energy and help regulate blood sugar levels. The category of whole grains encompasses whole wheat, brown rice, oats, quinoa, and barley.. They should be eaten in place of refined grains such as white bread and pasta.

  3. Legumes: Legumes, such as beans, lentils, and chickpeas, are a great source of protein and fiber. They also contain vitamins and minerals, including iron, magnesium, and potassium. Legumes have been linked to lower rates of heart disease, diabetes, and some types of cancer.

  4. Nuts and Seeds: Seeds and nuts contain rich levels of protein, healthy fats, and fiber. They also contain vitamins and minerals, including vitamin E and magnesium. Eating nuts and seeds has been associated with a lower risk of heart disease, cancer, and other chronic diseases.

  5. Fish: Fish is an excellent source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for brain and heart health. Omega-3 fatty acids have been linked to a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, and dementia. It is recommended to eat at least two servings of fish every week, including oily fish such as salmon, mackerel, and sardines.

  6. Fermented Foods: Fermented foods, such as yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi, are rich in probiotics, which are beneficial bacteria that live in the gut. Probiotics have been linked to improved digestion, a stronger immune system, and a lower risk of chronic diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes.

  7. Herbs and Spices: Herbs and spices, such as turmeric, ginger, garlic, and cinnamon, have anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease. They can also add flavor to meals without adding salt or sugar.

  8. Water: Water is essential for life, and it is important to drink enough water every day to stay hydrated. It is recommended to drink at least eight glasses of water every day.

  9. Healthy Fats: While unhealthy fats should be avoided, healthy fats are an essential part of a balanced diet. These include monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, found in foods such as avocados, olive oil, nuts, and seeds. These fats have been linked to lower rates of heart disease, improved brain function, and a reduced risk of some types of cancer.

  10. Green Tea: Green tea is rich in antioxidants, especially a type called catechins, which have been linked to a lower risk of heart disease, cancer, and other chronic diseases. Drinking green tea has also been associated with improved brain function and a reduced risk of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.

It's important to note that while these foods are associated with a longer, healthier life, they should be consumed as part of a balanced diet. It's also essential to limit or avoid unhealthy foods, such as processed and fried foods, sugary drinks, and excessive amounts of red and processed meats.

In addition to a healthy diet, engaging in regular physical activity, managing stress, and getting enough sleep are all crucial for maintaining optimal health. By making lifestyle changes and incorporating healthy habits into your daily routine, you can increase your chances of living a long, healthy life and enjoying all that life has to offer.

Matt Cook Healthy to 120 One Food to Eat concept emphasizes incorporating one food into your daily diet for optimal health. Avocado is an excellent choice for this, as it is rich in healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. By incorporating avocados into your daily diet, you can experience numerous health benefits and improve your overall health and longevity.

Iherb Haul | Health, Beauty, Skincare, Supplements + Discount Code

It's been quite a while since I shared an iHerb haul. I've still been shopping there regularly; I just haven't shared in a bit, so I figured it was about time. I've actually been shopping there since 2008 because their prices are so good, shipping is fast, and they usually have all the health products that I'm looking for.

This haul features some products that are new to me and some old favourites. I also have a discount code AGU725 that will save you $$$ whether you are new to iHerb or have previously shopped there.

This is a repurchase for me. It has many health and beauty benefits, so I love to make it a part of my everyday supplement routine.

"GLA (gamma-Linolenic acid), and linolenic acid are essential, polyunsaturated fatty acids. They are used by most cells in the body to produce soothing prostaglandins (intracellular hormone-like messengers), which help maintain the balance of many functions in the body."

Garden of Life makes some of my favourite supplements. They use raw whole foods in their multivitamin, they are non-GMO and I definitely notice a difference in how I feel when I take them. I can't say that for most multivitamins that I've tried.

"Vitamin Code® 50 & Wiser Women is a comprehensive whole food multi-nutrient formula, specifically formulated to meet the unique needs of women over 50, providing the nourishment the body craves to maintain optimal health and well-being.
Contains 23 powdered organically grown fruits and vegetables add supporting antioxidants, vitamins and nutrient cofactors."
  • Breast and Thyroid Health
  • Bone Strength
  • Healthy Heart and Blood Pressure††
  • Live Probiotics and Enzymes Support Healthy Digestion

I've had a lot of success with homeopathic remedies for insomnia. I do switch up the homeopathic remedies that I use so my body doesn't get used to one and I won't "prove" a remedy. I love that there aren't any contraindications between homeopathic remedies and medications. *

Uses: May help temporarily relieve:
  • Symptoms of insomnia
  • Occasional sleeplessness
  • Difficulty falling asleep

I'm a total hair product junkie. It's hard NOT to be one when you have very difficult and damaged hair! This product is definitely like an oil despite being called a serum. It is brand new to me and so far I like it. It doesn't weigh my hair down and really does help with frizz, it only takes a few drops. I feel like it is doing good things for my hair and scalp. It seems to have been removed from iHerb's website now. Not sure if that is temporary or not.

"This intensive oil serum is perfect for those who regularly straighten, perm or heat style their hair, as well as kinky, curly or wavy natural styles. Effectively penetrates to treat the scalp and each hair strand with nutrients, minerals and vitamins, bringing damaged or chemically processed hair back to life. Nutrient-rich Jamaican Black Castor Oil and organic Shea Butter help support healthy growth by strengthening and conditioning hair, increasing its resistance to breakage. Peppermint stimulates the scalp for an invigorating experience."

This eye cream is an old favourite of mine. I've tried many eye creams and serums and I always go back to this one or Olay's Ultimate Eye cream, they both work equally well for my hooded eyes but this one is natural. Although the effect is temporary I'll take it! This large 1oz size lasts for a long time. Most eye creams are only 15ml so this one is twice as much.
  • With Organic Aloe, Arnica and Vitamin K
  • Paraben-Free
  • Fragrance-Free
  • Anti-Aging Hydration Formula
"Inspired by the antioxidant benefits of the exotic goji berry, Goji Berry Eye Cream represents a breakthrough in anti-aging eye care wellness. We combined the nutrient-rich goji berry [Himalayan Lycium Berry] with specially selected moisturizing and health-promoting skin care ingredients including organic aloe, arnica and vitamin K, well-known for reducing swelling around eyes and soothing away puffiness."

I've been purchasing Sierra Bees lip balms for years. They are natural and actually work well at moisturizing my lips. Plus they are super inexpensive. I always stock up when they are on sale and love to gift them to friends and family.
  • Featuring Sustainably Sourced Beeswax, Olive Oil, Sunflower Oil & Vitamin E
  • Formulated to be: USDA Organic, Non-GMO, Cruelty-Free
  • Made with Eco-Friendly & Biodegradable Ingredients
  • No Sulfates, No Preservatives, No Artificial Fragrances & No Animal Testing
  • Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth

These are a repurchase for me. I love having these on hand, not only to remove face masks but to use with my cleanser for gentle exfoliation. They make a great companion to any face cleanser to help remove more makeup, dirt, and debris.

"The Mask Remover Sponges are premium, spa-quality sponges that are designed to quickly wipe away facial masks, mess-free. Made from wood pulp, these sponges boost the effectiveness of masks by gently exfoliating the skin for a smoother, more radiant appearance."

I heard so much about this lip balm that I had to try it! It is quite thick in consistency and does a great job of moisturizing the lips. It's quite long-lasting too and has a subtle hint of colour. This big tube should last quite a while. ELF is a cruelty-free brand. This product is no longer on iHerb's website but it is available on Amazon in Berry, Peach, Rose, and Mint.

"Infused with Jojoba Oil Repairs dry lips Adds a sheer wash of color An intense lip balm treatment that gives you the ultimate hydrated and plumped lips."

I hope you enjoyed seeing my latest iHerb Haul! If you use discount code AGU725 or use this link, you will save money on your entire order!

Happy Shopping!

The Best Way to Manage Health and Weight at Home With Healthkeep!

Amazon stock pics - Healthkeep scale model CS20M3

My partner purchased this HealthKeep Body Weight Scale some time ago. It was sitting in the box for months, so I asked if I could use it and I immediately set it up and couldn't wait to see all my stats!

This Healthkeeep scale is the exact one that my partner's chiropractic uses, so I feel confident about its accuracy and quality despite its super low price tag of SRP $29.99CAD (currently on sale for $22.99).

It was easy to set up which took about 5 minutes after the 2 AAA batteries were installed (batteries were included with the scale).

Once I downloaded the Feelfit app by scanning the QR code on the pamphlet, I turned on Bluetooth and location (used for android only) and was able to see all of my stats within seconds.

The app can sync with Fitbit, Apple Health, Google Fit,and offers App for Apple Watch, Samsung Health.

The scale is made from tempered glass and can weigh up to 396lbs. It is
FDA, CE, FCC, and ROHS certified

The HealthKeep scale will display and store 13 measurements which helps you know what's going on inside your body and you can then take better control of your health.

13 Key Body Composition Analysis:

Healthkeep Body Weight Monitor keeps track with 13 essential measurements:
  1. Body Weight
  2. Body Fat %
  3. BMI
  4. Fat-free Body Weight
  5. Subcutaneous Fat
  6. Visceral Fat
  7. Body Water %
  8. Skeletal Muscle
  9. Muscle Mass
  10. Bone Mass
  11. Protein
  12. BMR
  13. Metabolic Age.

We now have 2 of these scales in 2 different bathrooms and I purchased one for my parents as well.

I've never been one to weigh myself very often, I usually just go by the fit of my clothing. But as I age, I am more concerned with things like bone mass and visceral fat etc.

This scale shows me all of those details plus much more and I'm able to set goals in the app as well.

In the screenshots below, I'll share some of my stats so you can see how it works. Note that you can change the colour scheme in the app.

Using the + feature in the app (shown above) allows you to share your details, compare dates to see changes etc.

The photo above shows all of the information that you'll receive within seconds of stepping on the scale.

You can also compare dates using the + data comparison button and can see any changes that occurred between the 2 dates. This is a very handy tool!

My body fat is shown above. I already knew I had to work on that but now I know where I stand and can watch as it goes up or down.

You can click on any of your stats to see more information including where it falls in a range.

I have shared a few of mine in the following examples and I have highlighted each with circles around them.

I was happy to see my bone mass is above average at this time as that is something I have been wondering and even worried about. *

Visceral fat is very important too as stated above, it is the "fat that is found around the human organs and mainly resides in the abdominal cavity." I was surprised and very happy that mine was good/acceptable.

Now that I have this scale, I know which areas I need to focus on when it comes to my health. I can now adjust my diet and fitness routines to get my body where I want it to be. I don't want to obsess about it, but I like to be informed and also be able to see changes and hopefully progress as I adjust my diet and fitness routine. And besides, I actually find this scale fun!

*Note that the scale is not a substitute for seeing your doctor and I would not rely on the scale alone to keep track of my health. Rather, it is something that I will use in addition to seeing my doctor to help me keep on top of my health.

I'm really happy with this scale! I've already lost a few pounds since I started using the it, as I'm able to adjust how I eat according to whether my weight went up or down when I weigh myself in the morning. The same goes for tracking muscle mass and fat percentages. You can adjust your activity accordingly. The scale shares so much more information about my health than a regular scale. I cannot recommend it enough if you want to take control of your health, too!

Wishing you good health!
