Redken All Soft Shampoo For Dry and Brittle Hair Review

Happy Sunday, everyone! ๐ŸŒž

Today, I'm sharing this week's standout product which goes to Redken's All Soft Shampoo for dry and brittle hair with argan oil + 2% moisture complex.

I've always been a total hair product junkie resulting from having naturally difficult hair (fine, frizzy, curly, wavy), plus the fact that it's dry and damaged from bleaching it, so I'm always searching for the next best thing to tame the mane. I've tried so many hair products that my bathroom looks as if a hair supply store threw up in there! I hate the mess but that's the cost of testing out new hair products in search of the best ones for my hair.

The texture of my hair has changed over the last few years which is partially from damage, but also from the front area of my hair getting a lot more grey hairs. The texture had become coarse, rough, dryer, and unmanageable. My hair would constantly break off and fall out so my search for the best hair products for my current hair woes continued.

I tried products with protein that were supposed to help with my hair issues and my hair would often feel better for a short time but then become rough and coarse again. I alternated with products that moisturize to try and keep my hair balanced as too much protein in the hair can cause breakage.

I came across Redken's All Soft shampoo and read some great reviews about it, so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad that I did! The texture of my hair feels SO much better now, it's so much softer and doesn't feel rough and brittle anymore, even the wirey grey hairs are soft now. Plus, I'm experiencing much less breakage now and I'm losing less hair in the shower.

The scent is light and fresh and it lathers up really well, leaving my hair feeling clean but not stripped. It also did not affect my colour as it is colour safe. Shampoos never really mattered too much to me before, I was more concerned with the treatments and conditioners. But, I can definitely say that just changing my shampoo to Redken's All Soft has made a huge difference for me. Another product that I had recently gone back to is Lanza's Trauma Treatment which I also recommend for damaged hair. I had gone back to that weeks before I started using Redken's All Soft, so I was able to assess the changes to my hair based on changing just the shampoo I was using.

About:
  • Redken professional salon shampoo formulated with Argan Oil, a plant oil that softens and moisturizes and conditions hair from root to tip. Leaves hair silky soft with increased manageability, suppleness and shiny look and feeling of hair.
  • Shampoo for dry hair formulated with Redken's Moisture Complex. Provides conditioning, hydration, moisture, silkiness and healthy look of hair. For fine to medium hair types in need of moisture and nourishment.
  • Provides hydration, moisture, and softness for all dry hair types looking to condition. Replenishes moisture balance of hair. Conditions 15x more when used as a set with Argan Oil Conditioner as full system.
  • Conditioning, moisturizing shampoo with argan oil for dry hair. For color-treated hair and non color-treated hair types. Adds moisture and nourishes damage and all dryness.
  • Color treated hair stays protected, looks vibrant, soft and hydrated. Cleanses, restores, and softens dry, brittle hair, while creating soft and silky hair.
I've used and enjoyed other Redken products, but the All Soft line is most likely one you should go for if you are also experiencing dry and brittle hair, it really lives up to its name!

Although it is on the pricier side, after my experience with Redken's All Soft Shampoo, I definitely want to try out the whole line. Redken also offers the All Soft Mega line for severely dry, medium and thick hair. Although I have very fine hair, I wouldn't mind trying out the All Soft Mega line at some point as well. ๐Ÿ˜ Note: they come in smaller-sized bottles if you're not ready to invest in the big daddy size that I purchased.

Let me know if you try this line or the All Soft Mega!

John Frieda Go Blonder Shampoo and Conditioner Review

I tested out @johnfriedacanada 's Go Blonder shampoo and conditioner exclusively for over 2 weeks and I absolutely
love them!! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›
.
I have blonde highlights that get dull easily and definitely needed a refresh.  This shampoo used along with the matching conditioner has brightened my blonde highlights so nicely! Not only that, but my greys that show up in my regrowth are also looking blonde vs grey, so they are actually looking like highlights now and blending in with my existing highlights vs looking like grey regrowth.  It's just amazing! I was kind of expecting these products to be drying on my already dry hair but they are not! They're actually quite moisturizing.  They also give my hair that salon clean feeling and the scent is so fresh. ๐ŸŒธ

  • John Frieda Go Blonder is a mild cleanser that gradually lightens for a visibly lighter, brighter, more sunlit shade of blonde
  • ACTIVE INGREDIENTS - John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder shampoo is formulated with citrus and chamomile, and our BlondeMend Technology

  • BRIGHTEN WITHOUT DRYING - Restore moisture to treated, or dry, hair as you gradually lighten for visibly lighter, more sunlit blonde hair.
  • ACTIVE INGREDIENTS - John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder conditioner is formulated with our citrus and chamomile, and our BlondMend Technology.

I'm so used to reaching for purple shampoos and conditioners for my blonde highlights which are great for reducing brassiness and making my blonde look more ashy. And, I still have a place for purple hair products in my haircare routine, but if you really want to brighten your blonde and maybe help your greys look more blonde vs grey, I highly recommend you give these a try!

They are super affordable and currently on sale for only $8.49 each!

Purchase here:

Happy Sunday!

Decluttering Series: Weekly Beauty Product Testing With #Reviews- Week of Aug 3 + 10th

I'm still working on using up all of my samples, but I am making a lot of progress along the way. After this week, I mostly have some skin care samples to try out.. here's hoping that my skin wont freak out!

I tried out quite a few products so I'll try and make the reviews brief and to the point. ;)

John Frieda Colour Renew Tone-Correcting Shampoo for Colour Treated Blondes

This shampoo claims to neutralize brassiness for colour-treated blondes in 3 uses. It's your typical purple shampoo that you find in blonde shampoos that remove brassiness. Some of these types of shampoos can be VERY drying for your hair. I didn't find this one very drying and the results were subtle. I wouldn't say this one is very powerful at reducing brassiness.

Korres Wild Rose 24HR Moisturizing and Brightening Cream

I found this to be more of a lotion consistency than a cream, despite this, it was fairly hydrating. I was surprised that I didn't have any breakouts as many rose based products tend to make my acne-prone skin breakout. I used it in conjunction with my usual serum and oil and although I would rate it as good, it didn't blow me away so I wont be purchasing it.

Dove Go Sleeveless Beauty Finish 48 Hr Antiperspirant

I really liked the scent, not sure how to describe it but I really liked it, and it wasn't a powdery smell (which is great for me). This is definitely a little more powerful than my aluminum free deodorants. I never wore it for 48 hours, so I cannot attest to that claim. I prefer to use products without aluminum, so I will stick with my aluminum free deodorants and save this for special occasions when I need a little more power.

Novex Queratina Brasileira Hair Food Keratin Treatment

After using this product my hair had a slightly different texture to it. It felt a little bit more coarse (maybe stronger?) but I found it a little too heavy for my fine hair when I left it on for 25 minutes with a shower cap on. However, when I used it as a regular conditioner in the shower and only left it on for a few minutes, my hair was not weighed down and I liked the results much more. I am curious to see if it would have any long term benefits though. And, I'd be willing to sacrifice weighed down hair for a day each week or month if it meant healthier, stronger hair. My hair wasn't particularly soft, so I doubt I'll ever find out if there are long term benefits unless I'm able to get my hands on a few more samples.

John Freida Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo

This product definitely brightened my blonde hair. I noticed it after just one use. It did leave my hair feeling more unmanageable when it was wet, but it was fine once styled. I would say this product lives up to it's claims. However, unless my hair needs some lightening, I will probably be sticking to my purple shampoo to tone down any brassiness.

Mario Badescu Skin Care

Special Cucumber lotion: Forget about it! This is full of alcohol. I will not be using this. I damaged and dehydrated my skin for enough years when I was trying to combat acne and didn't know any better. Luckily, now I know better and I don't dry out my skin!

Peptide Renewal Cream: I don't know if I got a bad one, but this smelled of some horrible gas or engine oil, it was very strange (and awful). It was really thick and very difficult (almost impossible) to blend into my skin. I would be willing to give it another chance if I could get my hands on another sample and see if I just got a bad one. I find it hard to believe they'd make something that smells so horrible and doesn't absorb into the skin.

Peptide Renewal Serum: This serum had a nice slip to it and seemed hydrating. Unfortunately, after using it for a week, I ended up with small, painful bumps under the skin on my forehead!  Nuff said.
