January Empties | Skincare, Makeup, Health, Beauty, Anti-Aging

Happy February!

It's been a while since my last empties post and my little box of empties is full, so I figured it was time to share. I left out some basic items like my Kirkland/ Costco face wipes and cotton pads as they were the same old' thing. As always, I'll share links to products where possible and share a brief review of each product and whether or not I'd repurchase the item.

Hair Care

AG Sleeek Conditioner
I used this with AG's sulfate-free Smooth shampoo (not finished yet). It's a great line for frizz-prone hair as it's very hydrating and does help with dryness and frizz. AG's Fast Food Leave-in conditioner is one of my absolute favourites for over a decade now and they worked really well together.

Repurchase: Possibly but I'm trying others

Pravana The Perfect Blonde Purple Toning Masque
Love Love Love this product. I was tired of drying purple shampoos so I turned to this purple hair masque. It's intense and isn't drying. It does an amazing job at toning my blonde hair and removing brassiness!

Repurchase- Yes!

Ouai Hair Oil
This hair oil did pretty much nothing for my dry, damaged, and frizzy hair. If your hair is dry, damaged and frizzy like mine, you're better off with a couple of drops of pure argan oil over this, in my opinion. I have many other hair oils that I prefer over this. I think this would be suitable for those with less damaged and frizzy hair. Glad I received a sample to try it first!

Repurchase- No

Skincare/ Makeup

Retin A Micro Gel 0.04% ( RX)
I've been using this for quite a few years now. It has never irritated my skin and I feel it has helped with pigmentation and wrinkles. I wish it would help with sagging as I age but I am having to look elsewhere for help with that. I recently took a short break from using it but have gone back to it. I am now alternating it with other acids to see if I can get some more help for sagging etc.

Repurchase- Yes

Anjou Hyaluronic Acid Serum
This hyaluronic acid contains many other wonderful ingredients.  I've really gotten into hyaluronic acids this winter because my skin was feeling quite dehydrated for a while. So far, this is my favourite hyaluronic acid that I've used. It REALLY hydrates my skin. I used it along with my other serums and moisturizers. Sadly, I cannot find this on Amazon anymore. I've linked something similar here.

Repurchase- Maybe discontinued :(

Babor Derma Cellular Collagen Booster Cream
I didn't use this long enough to be able to tell much of a difference with my skin. And it wasn't all that memorable which kind of says a lot. It was definitely hydrating and worked well as a basic moisturizer but I didn't notice much beyond that.

Repurchase- Would need another sample to determine

Caudalie Vino Perfect Brightening Glycolic Night Cream
When my skin became very dehydrated this winter, I switched to this cream and used it with the above hyaluronic acid and my skin was transformed overnight! This was hydrating and made my skin soft, smooth and clear. This cream outperformed many other creams that are much more expensive. I saw results and saw them quickly. Really impressed with this cream and the price is reasonable.

Repurchase- Yes!

Il Makiage Encore Volume, All Day Lasting & Water Resistant Mascara
This is one of those mascaras that kept getting better with time. It doesn't flake or smudge which I appreciate because my eyes are so hooded. It gives me amazing volume and length and it's very easy to remove.

Repurchase- I would if it was priced lower. $27 is just too much for mascara in my opinion

Health

BHI Calming homoeopathic tablets
I use this on the regular. It has a very subtle action and used with other products, it does help with my sleep issues. I've been using it for years! Homeopathics don't interact if you are taking medications*

Repurchase- Yes

Source Naturals Seditol
This herbal supplement is a blend of magnolia bark and a proprietary extract of jujube seed. It worked wonders and I had deep restful sleep which hadn't happened to me in years!

Repurchase- Yes

Now Foods 5-HTP
5-HTP can help with sleep and mood. It's another one of my go-to supplements that I use to help with my sleep. I start with 50mg and bump up to 100mg if I need more.  I have never had any side effects with this and it often helps when I get restless leg syndrome at night.

Repurchase- Yes

Overall, my favourite products from this month's empties are the Caudalie Vinoperfect Glycolic Night Cream, Anjou Hyaluronic Acid, Pravana Purple Toning Masque, and the Seditol supplement.

That's it for this month. I do want to focus on using up more products, so let's see how I do next month.

Hoping February is a great month for you!
