Flexitol Heel Magic is literally like magic for your feet! I have used this product in the past and was blown away. The stick type applicator makes it easy to apply to your feet and heels and is mess-free. It claims visible results in 3 days and I had visible results after one application before bed. It transformed my dry scaly heels and made them look sandal-ready. No skin cream has ever worked remotely as well as this product does. My partner always wants to steal mine, so this is a great unisex product for gift-giving! Flexitol also has lip care products as well as products specially formulated for eczema. SRP $14.99.

MesmorEyes Full Lashes are the first false lash brand that I ever tried. I like that they specify what eye shape each set of lashes is suitable for. For example, they specify that this particular set is suitable for almond, mono, round, and hooded eyes. I found them very easy to apply and they stayed on all day. This is their Dramatic Lash set in #304. SRP $5.99.

Makeup Brush Storage & Organization On A Budget!

I was doing my weekly makeup brush deep cleansing and I thought I should share with you how I store and organize them.

It may be an old idea to some of you, but hopefully, it will be helpful to others who maybe haven't seen or thought of this as a way to organize makeup brushes.

I purchased this great pen / office organizer for a few dollars at Home Sense. I thought it would make a great makeup brush organizer because of the dividers. This way I could separate my makeup brushes by type.

I think it's the perfect size. I keep my brushes that are not in use stored in makeup bags that are put away. This just houses my brushes that are in use (and yes, it holds all the brushes shown in the photo of my brushes drying on the towel above!)

Since there are 4 quadrants, I organized them by eye brushes, blush, bronzer & highlight, and face.

This system is working great for me!

Here is where they are actually stored on my desk.

I would rather keep the brushes inside my desk but due to a poor design, the drawer only opens 1/2 way so I lose 1/2 the space. ugh.. it's a "youtube made me do it" horrible purchase.

Ironically, after reading an article in a magazine about how it's not good to keep makeup in the bathroom due to humidity, I googled how to store makeup and that is how I discovered the wonderful world of beauty on Youtube and the web.

I also purchased this mail organizer to keep my makeup palettes in, but it just puts too much clutter on my desk for me. I ended up using for it's intended use (paperwork).

Some of you may not mind having your palettes out and this would be a good way to organize them. Again, probably not new to a lot of you makeup junkies like me.

I hope you liked seeing how I store my makeup brushes. I love organizing and I'm always looking out for new and better ways to do it.

Let me know if you have any organizing tips!

Game Changing Contour Brush For Under $2?!

I had to share a new favourite of mine!

Read on if you're interested in an awesome contour brush for less than $2!

I've always contoured parts of my face to try and hide and sculpt it the way I want.

When I was in my late teens it was all about slimming my face and chiselling out my cheekbones.

Now that I'm older I don't want to chisel them so much as I've lost the baby fat with age.

But, I do like to contour my nose and try and sculpt a more defined jawline. And, a little bit of cheek contouring can help make the cheekbones look more lifted or prominent.

As you can see it's a smaller sized brush. I think it's a perfect size. Especially since I'm big on nose contouring but I also find it perfect for my cheeks and jawline.

I purchased my contour brush from eBay for $1.94 CAD with free shipping. It took 3 months to get to me though! I didn't think it was ever going to arrive but eventually, it did.

Stock photo of eBay contour brush

This is my new eBay contour brush beside measuring tape in inches

When it arrived the bristles were stuck to the glue on the envelope that it came in.. I mean REALLY stuck. It took all my strength to pull the bristles free from the glue (it was some strong glue). And, surprisingly it didn't lose one single hair in the process! I couldn't believe it.

I used to use the contour brushes shown below.

The fan-shaped brush is a typical one that comes with a lot of blush or bronzer compacts and instead of throwing them out, I liked to use them for contouring.

They did an okay job, but once I tried my new contour brush there was no comparison!

My new brush has me contouring on most days. It's the perfect size for my face and it's super soft.

Note: You can also do a search for it using the wording in the above link. There should be many sellers to choose from that have this particular brush.

I have previously raved about some $1 eBay eye makeup brushes in a post found here. They are supposed to be Mac dupes! (And, I still love them)

I don't know what this brush is a dupe for, if anything, but I love it and highly recommend it!

LOL.. practicing contouring with my new brush and acting silly, of course!

Have you scored any awesome products lately?

DIY Multi-Purpose Makeup Brush Spot Cleaner

I just ran out of my makeup brush spot cleanser and sanitizer, which is a DIY that I have been making and using for years now. Since I'm making a new batch, I thought I'd share it with you in case any of you are looking for a recipe to make your own. It's super easy and it only takes a few simple ingredients.

Since it contains alcohol and it disinfects, I also use it to wipe down my cell phone daily (since our cell phones usually end up covered in germs by the end of each day), I also use it to sanitize my hair brushes.

What you will need:

  1. distilled or purified water
  2. a spray bottle
  3. rubbing alcohol
  4. your favourite (or any) facial toner
  5. (optional) your favourite essential oil  hint: tea tree is a good one!

How to mix:
Fill 1/2 the bottle with rubbing alcohol, fill 1/4 of the bottle with distilled or purified water, next fill the last 1/4 of the bottle with the facial toner of your choice. Optional: add a few drops of essential oil like tea tree oil. Screw the top on and shake it to mix. You can label the bottle if you choose to. I don't bother as I use it every day and it's got its own spot in my bathroom. Now it's ready to use!

Here, I have sprayed a tissue with the solution and I'm swiping my makeup brush on it to remove the colour and also sanitize the brush at the same time. If you are using very large brushes you may want to use a small towel. It dries quickly so you can use the brush again or at least it's clean and ready for the next day. This is a great way to clean your brushes in between deep cleanings.

To clean your cell phone I don't recommend spraying the phone directly. Instead, spray a tissue and wipe the entire surface (front and back).

To clean your hair brushes, first remove all the hair, then spray the entire surface with the solution and lay your brush face down to dry.

I'm sure this solution could be used to spot clean so many more items. If you have any ideas of what else this could be used on, please leave a comment below. I love hearing ideas from you guys!
