Weekly Favourite | Adidas Duramo Running Shoes

This week's standout product is the Adidas Duramo Running Shoes.

I had been wearing the same old pair of shoes for walking on my treadmill for years! It was definitely time for an upgrade. I purchased these sleek looking Adidas Duramo 10 sneakers and it was like when Goldilocks found the right bed... these were just right!

When it comes to walking shoes, I look for something that hugs my foot, is lightweight, has enough cushioning, and offers enough support as I have always had weak ankles.

These shoes met all of my criteria and then some! They definitely felt much more supportive than some other brands that I tried on when i purchased these. And, I didn't even need to break them in. I walked 3 miles in them on my treadmill the first day that I wore them without any issues at all, and my feet didn't become tired. I find that I can slip them on and off without having to undo the laces which is very convenient.

Size wise, I find that Adidas run big. I normally wear an 8.5- 9 size shoe but usually have to size up to 9.5 in running shoes.  With these beauties, an 8.5 fit me perfectly.  I probably could have also worn a size 9 but I wasn't able to try that size as it was out of stock. I definitely find these run narrow across the top part of my foot where the laces are. It isn't an issue for me as my feet are slightly on the narrow side, but if you have wider feet, I would definitely order these in the wide width

If you are looking for a great new running shoe that is lightweight with tons of support, I definitely recommend the Adidas Duramo 10. They have made my 3 mile walks much more enjoyable and I look forward to my walks even more now. They are also quite attractive as a sporty-fashion shoe and I'm tempted to get another pair just for that.

They are available for men, women and children in a variety of colours. I purchased the black and white shown but would love to add more colours to my sneaker collection. I paid about $90 before taxes and feel that's a very reasonable price considering the fit, comfort, and quality.

Burt's Bees Gloss and Glow Glossy Balms Review + Swatches

Are you more of a lipstick or lip balm kind of person? I've always been more of a tinted lip balm kind of gal. Maybe it's because my lips are always dehydrated, plus I like the natural look that they give me.

These new Burt's Bees Gloss and Glow Glossy Balms are right up my alley. They are super hydrating and offer my lips a beautiful, semi-sheer tint. They are loaded with wonderful hydrating ingredients like coconut oil, olive oil, and mango butter.

The packaging is super cute and also sleek, which makes them easy to travel with. You can throw them in your purse or pocket for on-the-go use. The packaging contains 17% post-consumer plastic, so they are eco-friendly, too. The balms also offer a light and floral scent to them which does fade once applied.

Left-right: Winning in Pink, Eat Drink and be Cherry, Wine Wednesday.

I am featuring 3 of the 4 shades here. Each shade offers hydration plus a beautiful, youthful glow without shimmer or glitter, which is something that's important to me when choosing a lip product.

Winning in Pink is the sheerest colour, it adds hydration and a touch of pink with a beautiful glow. Eat, Drink and be Cherry is a sheer red/pink shade and is described as a vibrant red. While, Wine Wednesday, is a darker pink/mauve shade and is described as deep red.

You can make them very sheer with a quick swipe or build them up for more impact, with the exception of the lightest shade which stays very sheer. The fourth shade is called Chai Time. Unfortunately, I don't have that one to swatch, but it's described as a rosy beige, which is probably a shade I would love! I'm glad that Burt's Bees designed these shades to work on all skin tones, and I truly believe that they would.

I'm loving how these tinted balms smooth and soften my lips and help make them appear more youthful thanks to their super-hydrating formula. I think that no matter what your age, a hydrated-looking pout is an easy way to appear more youthful and healthy.

I find that I reach for the lightest shade (Winning in Pink) most often, while Wine Wednesday is the one I reach for second-most, as I love the mauve-y shade against my skin tone. I definitely need to pick up the shade Chai Time, too, as it sounds like my jam!

These gorgeous Gloss Balms feature a 100% natural origin formula and are cruelty-free. 🐰

Weekly Favourite | L'Oréal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mist

Welcome to this week's Weekly Favourite!

This week's standout product is Loreal's Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mist in Medium Natural Tan.

I have been using this product on and off for quite some time. Now that the warmer weather is here and we are exposing more skin, I like to have a healthy-looking tan as I haven't really made the time to sit out and get any colour. And, when I do make the time, I'm much more cautious about the dangerous rays of the sun. I do believe that getting some sunshine is a very good and healthy thing in moderation, but I no longer bake and fry my skin in the sun like I used to. So I've been turning to self-tanners to make my pale, pasty-looking skin look healthy and tanned.

I'm not the Queen of self-tanners, yet, but I'm definitely becoming a regular user. I have been using L'oreal's Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning mist most days after my shower. When I first started using it, I wasn't really impressed with the "360 degree" mister, but I was expecting too much, or maybe is was user error. I thought it was going to work like a "spray tan" and just mist and go. Although it didn't work exactly as I was expecting, it is very easy to apply, you just need a tanning mitt. Right now, I'm using one by St. Tropez. I'm pretty sure any good tanning mitt will do.

How I use it:

After I've showered and dried off, I mist each area of my body and blend it out with the tanning mitt. Sometimes I'll just spray the tanner into the mitt and apply that way. It dries down very quickly, so I do one area at a time.

What I love about this mist is that it dries down right away, it doesn't have to be washed off, and I can get dressed right away with no worries of staining my clothes or sheets as it doesn't transfer! I also appreciate that it doesn't have that unpleasant self-tanner scent. It does have a bit of a strong scent which is kind of floral, but I became used to it, it doesn't bother me, I actually prefer that to a typical self-tanner scent and the scent fades away rather quickly. The colour is natural looking and doesn't have that dreaded orange tan look!

About:
  • L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mist: Get a streak-free tan with this sunless tanning mist; With angled applicator for ultra-even application and natural-looking results — even on the areas that are hardest to reach
  • Salon-inspired self-tan at home: This self-tanner is streak-free, quick-drying and gives you salon-inspired airbrush tanning results at home; Even, smooth, sunless tan develops in 2-4 hours

The colour I've been using is medium. It gives me a nice subtle colour and is buildable, so I'll often let it dry and apply another coat. It applies evenly and is streak-free as long as you are using a mitt to blend it out. I'm definitely going to try a shade darker for the Summertime so I can probably use less product and get a deeper tan, and save the medium shade for the colder months. Either way, I am loving this tanning mist and highly recommend you give it a try if you are looking for a healthy but subtle tan. It's not only super affordable but delivers gorgeous colour and is super easy to use!
