How To Get A Healthy Summer Tan Instantly | St Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted

I've never been a fan of how heavy or full coverage makeup looks on me, so I have always veered towards products with sheer, light coverage. I also love to add some colour to my face so I look healthy instead of having that pale and pasty dead look, which may look good on some people, but I'm not one of them. I always need to add some colour to my face, and since I always protect my face from the sun these days, I rarely have a natural tan, so I reach for St. Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted for an instant sun-kissed look.

I've been using St Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Tinted Moisturizer and Primer for years now. I love it all year round but especially in the Spring and Summer. It gives my pale skin a sheer wash of colour for a healthy sun-kissed look. And, it's not only a tinted moisturizer, it's also a gradual tanner AND primer all in one. I love multi tasking products like this!

About:
  • 4-in-1 tint, tan, nourish and prime.
  • For an instant hint of sheer skin-perfecting coverage with a buildable sun-kissed glow that develops over 4-8 hours.
  • Formulated with non pore-blocking ingredients, this nourishing face primer is an ideal base for makeup or a no makeup look.
  • Take the edge off of dull or tired looking skin, with a hint of tint that lasts.
  • Apply to face and decolletage everyday or so for a hydrating and natural looking, golden tan that lasts for days. Be sure to wash hands afterwards.
  • Ultra-lightweight, refreshing and non-sticky.
  • 100% vegan-friendly

The product comes in an easy to dispense squeeze-y tube. Although the color is pretty dark, it's so sheer that it can work on most skintones, from very fair to darker skinned gals and guys.

I need less than pea sized amount to cover my face and neck. I blend it out over my moisturizer using my finger tips and add more as needed. My face instantly looks like I have a healthy, natural tan without the harmful rays of the sun, and I can control the intensity by adding as much or as little as I like.

I actually wish it came in a smaller sized bottle because I use so little of it that I rarely finish the 50ml bottle before it expires.

Before applications  (please ignore cat scratches.  Lol)

Use a small amount initially, and add more until you reach your desired look.

After blending out a small amount

Once blended out with my finger tips, I follow up with whatever makeup I'm in the mood for. Lately, I've been reaching for cream blush and bronzer with a tinted lip balm, some mascara and I'm done. Even if I just use this plus mascara and a tinted lip balm, it makes me feel more put together and better about how I look and feel.

I love how quickly and easily this product gives me that tanned, healthy look, and you can still see my skin through it, so it always looks very natural.

If you are looking for a quick and simple way to get a healthy Summer glow, I highly recommend your give St Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted a try!

Weekly Favourite | L'Oréal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mist

Welcome to this week's Weekly Favourite!

This week's standout product is Loreal's Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mist in Medium Natural Tan.

I have been using this product on and off for quite some time. Now that the warmer weather is here and we are exposing more skin, I like to have a healthy-looking tan as I haven't really made the time to sit out and get any colour. And, when I do make the time, I'm much more cautious about the dangerous rays of the sun. I do believe that getting some sunshine is a very good and healthy thing in moderation, but I no longer bake and fry my skin in the sun like I used to. So I've been turning to self-tanners to make my pale, pasty-looking skin look healthy and tanned.

I'm not the Queen of self-tanners, yet, but I'm definitely becoming a regular user. I have been using L'oreal's Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning mist most days after my shower. When I first started using it, I wasn't really impressed with the "360 degree" mister, but I was expecting too much, or maybe is was user error. I thought it was going to work like a "spray tan" and just mist and go. Although it didn't work exactly as I was expecting, it is very easy to apply, you just need a tanning mitt. Right now, I'm using one by St. Tropez. I'm pretty sure any good tanning mitt will do.

How I use it:

After I've showered and dried off, I mist each area of my body and blend it out with the tanning mitt. Sometimes I'll just spray the tanner into the mitt and apply that way. It dries down very quickly, so I do one area at a time.

What I love about this mist is that it dries down right away, it doesn't have to be washed off, and I can get dressed right away with no worries of staining my clothes or sheets as it doesn't transfer! I also appreciate that it doesn't have that unpleasant self-tanner scent. It does have a bit of a strong scent which is kind of floral, but I became used to it, it doesn't bother me, I actually prefer that to a typical self-tanner scent and the scent fades away rather quickly. The colour is natural looking and doesn't have that dreaded orange tan look!

About:
  • L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mist: Get a streak-free tan with this sunless tanning mist; With angled applicator for ultra-even application and natural-looking results — even on the areas that are hardest to reach
  • Salon-inspired self-tan at home: This self-tanner is streak-free, quick-drying and gives you salon-inspired airbrush tanning results at home; Even, smooth, sunless tan develops in 2-4 hours

The colour I've been using is medium. It gives me a nice subtle colour and is buildable, so I'll often let it dry and apply another coat. It applies evenly and is streak-free as long as you are using a mitt to blend it out. I'm definitely going to try a shade darker for the Summertime so I can probably use less product and get a deeper tan, and save the medium shade for the colder months. Either way, I am loving this tanning mist and highly recommend you give it a try if you are looking for a healthy but subtle tan. It's not only super affordable but delivers gorgeous colour and is super easy to use!

Getting a Safe Tan Without the Sun | James Read H20 Tanning Drops Review

Sometimes I forget how pale I can get until the middle of winter arrives and I'm looking like Casper the Friendly Ghost! I'm not really a fan of this look on me. Some may like or suit a pale look, but not me. I look best with some colour on my face, which is why I have always been such a fan of blush and bronzer. With my chronic lack of sleep, I'm even more in need of a bit of a healthy-looking tan!

I recently started using James Read H20 Gradual Tanning Drops for the face (30ml/ SRP $35), I like to call it "sunshine in a bottle!" You just add a few drops to your skincare (serum or moisturizer) and apply to your face and neck. Within hours, you end up with a beautiful, natural-looking tan without the orangeness that many sunless tanners provide, so you don't run the risk of looking like Donald Trump! 😄 You can control the level of tan that you achieve by using more or less drops and it's also buildable.

The drops are like the consistency of water but it's super easy to apply when you add it to your moisturizer, which is the recommended way to apply it. In the past, a lot of self-tanners made me not only look orange but they'd up on going on streaky. This one does neither of those things. It is also mostly free of the typical self-tanner scent. It has a barely detectable scent, which I appreciate.

James Read has many tanning products which I am eager to try now. From body tanning drops (linked here), to face masks, and self-tanners with special skincare ingredients, even makeup!

These drops are such a great way to get a really natural, healthy-looking tan without the harmful rays of the sun or tanning beds. I feel more confident and can use a lot less makeup when I use these drops. I look healthier and that makes me feel more confident.
