Monthly Favourites: Hair, Makeup, Beauty, and Health!

Welcome to my second monthly favourites! I may not always have monthly favourites, as a lot of the items that I use on a daily basis don't stand out to me as I've been using many of them daily for years. Some of the products featured here are new discoveries and others are not.

The products featured here are all standouts for July and creeping into August, so maybe these should also be called "Summer Favourites."

In the summer months, I want a no fuss, quick and easy look, and many of these products are featured here just for those reasons.

All of the products in this post happen to be cruelty-free! Yay!

Tweak-d Peaches & Cream Self Cleansing Hair Treatment
I did a whole blog post and review on this product (linked here). This is a new line that I just discovered and I've been loving it! Not only does it replace the need for other hair products, but it has allowed me to wear my hair down this summer! Usually, I have to wear my hair up in the summer because the humidity just makes my hair a giant frizz ball! My hair is softer, more manageable and it's also allowed me to go longer between washing my hair.

IT Cosmetics Vitality Face Disk
I waited way too long to start using this product and it had developed "hardpan." Luckily, I discovered a quick and simple way to fix that (DIY linked here), and now I'm thoroughly enjoying this product. The bronzer is the perfect colour and the blush is such a great colour for summer. And, it has a highlight in case I'm in the mood for more of a glow. I love having all 3 products handy in one palette, it makes for a quick and easy look this summer.

Physicians Formula Organic Wear BB Cream
This product is great at evening out my skin tone, it's not heavy or cakey looking and it has SPF. I love that it's organic too, so I don't have to worry about what I'm putting on my skin and therefore into my skin. And, it doesn't make me breakout. I do set it with a light dusting of powder as I have pretty oily skin, and I find it stays put all day. With this product, I don't have to worry about my makeup sliding off my face in this hot, humid weather.

Annabelle Lipsies
I recently purchased this crayon style lip product in 2 colours (full review with swatches linked here). I had no idea how much I would end up reaching for these. I actually use them every day! They are great for throwing something on when I don't want to wear lipstick. The one in the picture is in the colour Lychee, which is very nude and sheer. It's so sheer that at first, it was my least favourite of the 2, but now I find myself reaching for it every day. It's perfect for those no-makeup-makeup days (which is pretty much all summer), and it's super hydrating. I think I need to go buy another one before I run out!

Sonia Kashuk Yellow Alluriana Eau De Toilette
This is the perfect summer fragrance. Top notes are grapefruit, verbena, and musk. It's fresh and light, mostly citrus with a hint of musk. I normally don't like musk and that's probably what threw me off when I was deciding in Target whether to buy this or not. I loved it but that bit of musk just threw me off. Now, I'm so glad that I purchased it as It's now one of my favourite scents and I've worn it every day so far this summer.

Elf Smudge Pots
I have 3 Elf Smudge Pots. They are all are in the gold and bronze family. These are perfect to throw on for an easy eye look and they don't crease or budge. Of course, you could use them as a base for powdered eyeshadows but I love the colours and I find that they make a great eye look just on their own. Also, these cream eyeshadows don't dry out in the pot!

Hugo Naturals Essential Mist in Calming French Lavender
It's no secret that I have sleep issues. I know a lot of people do these days. The uncomfortably hot summer nights aren't helping either. I love to spray my pillows with this lavender mist to help calm my mind and help me sleep more deeply. It's also gluten-free and vegan.

BHI Calming Homeopathic Tablets
These are said to "relieve nervous tension, irritability, and sleeplessness." I've tried many homoeopathic remedies for my sleep issues. This is the one that works best for me. It helps me fall asleep and sleep more deeply. Homeopathics are very gentle, so you won't wake up groggy or anything. They also don't have any contraindications with allopathic medicines.
