It's time for another monthly empties post where I share what I finished (or didn't), plus what I loved or not so much. Here's a link to last month's empties if you want to check it out.
As you can see I also included a lip product purge. It all started with one lipstick that I knew I had to get rid of because I never wear it and it just doesn't suit me (thanks YouTube). Next thing I knew I was going through my lip products and this big purge happened.
As usual, I will share mini reviews and links where possible.
Skincare
- Simple Skincare Micellar Makeup Remover Wipes- I was waiting for a company to come out with a wipe made with micellar water. I really liked these but they weren't saturated enough. I would use these in place of liquid micellar water, especially for travel or on the go if they were more saturated. (Hopefully someone from Simple Skincare sees this post).
- Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer- This was fragrance free and had SPF. It's a good basic moisturizer and I wore it every summer during the daytime for the SPF in it.
Makeup
- Sonia Kashuk Shine Luxe Sheer Lip Color in Sheer Pink Lust- This is a great nude/pink, sheer lip colour. It's very moisturizing and great for aging lips as it has anti aging ingredients. Already have a backup!
- Elf Lash & Brow Clear Mascara- This holds my brows in place without adding colour. I wont be without this product. Luckily I have one left in my backup stash.
- Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara- I like this mascara, it gave me both length and volume, but I prefer Jordana's Best Lash Extreme. Although the Covergirl's is much easier to remove compared to Jordana's.
- Instant Touch-up Hair Mascara- I got this at the dollar store. It was supposed to help disguise roots in between highlight. It was horrible! It went on gold not blonde.
Health
- Madre Labs CocoCeps- I can't live without this organic dark cocoa powder with medicinal mushrooms in it (Cordyceps & Reishi powders). I have it every morning in a smoothie with protein powder and whatever else I feel like throwing in. It's extremely healthy for the heart, immunity and general health. It's also unsweetened, so I add stevia to my shake. Just click this link if you'd like to learn more about it.
- Now Foods Evening Primrose Oil- I take this for healthy hormones. It helps to build progesterone and is great for PMS symptoms. It's also wonderful for the skin and hair, and great for the immune system.
From iHerb: NOW Evening Primrose Oil has naturally occurring Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), an Omega-6 fatty acid also found in Borage and Black Currant seed oils. Although the body can synthesize GLA from other dietary fats, it can be more efficiently utilized for bodily functions when consumed in its preformed state. By supporting the body's healthy immune system responses, GLA may help to maintain normal skin barrier function, as well as a healthy vascular system. It may also be used as a nutritional support for mild discomfort associated with PMS.
- Now Foods Xyli-white- My favourite toothpaste. It's also free of fluoride, sls, gluten, and parabens. It also uses vegetarian/vegan ingredients. I've had better dental check ups since I started this toothpaste.
Lip Product Purge
Here are all the lip products that I've decided to part with. It all started with Revlon's lipstick in Primrose. I knew I had to get rid of it. It looks neon barbie pink on me, so I never wear it. Yep...I was sold by the hype over it on YouTube a couple of summers ago. Such a sucker! lol
One thing led to another and the next thing I knew I was going through all of my lip products. I was really surprised that I had so many to part with, 13 in total! Some are old, some are the wrong colour for me, and I can't wear lip products that stain- for some reason they turn my lips a horrid, dark, orange colour that makes my lips look burnt.
I may have one or two more lippies that I need to get rid of. I wont know until my lips are no longer stained from trying the above! lol
I hope you enjoyed seeing this month's empties and my lip product purge. It certainly feels good finishing products as well as getting rid of items that don't work for me or are expired.
