OZ Naturals Sweet Almond & Macadamia Nut Body Butter

This winter has done a number on my skin and it doesn't help that the humidifier in my house is broken. The end result has been dry, dehydrated and scaly skin. I was so happy to try OZ Naturals Sweet Almond and Macadamia Nut body butter. It's chocked full of great ingredients like shea butter, avocado oil, kukui nut oil, sweet almond oil, macadamia oil and more!

I have never found a body butter anything like this. It is not as thick and heavy as most body butters that I've tried but it's a lot thicker than a lotion, so the consistency is somewhere in between the two. Unlike other body butters, this product does not sit on the skin or leave a greasy film, it absorbs completely and also leaves my dehydrated winter skin completely hydrated and super soft (hydrated skin equals younger looking skin)!

Since there is zero greasiness, I love that I can throw on my skinny jeans moments after application, something I haven't been able to do with other body butters. This product would be great for sensitive skin too as it is very soothing and there's no burning after shaving! There is barely any scent to the product at all so it won't clash with any fragrances that you wear and would be suitable for those who are sensitive to fragrances. It also leaves a very subtle glow to my skin, making it look more perfected. There is no shimmer or glitter, just a subtle glow which will be great for when I want to improve the appearance of my arms and legs in the summer!

This product says it can be used on the face too, which I think is fabulous! The tube is a huge 8oz size so it will last forever. The ingredients are ones that I feel good about putting on my skin. I've tried other products by this line so I trust using this on my face as well as body. I also love the packaging which makes it very sanitary and great for travel.

The consistency is thick enough that it doesn't run down the back of my hand even with a large amount as shown here, but not too thick like most other body butters. Hopefully, you get an idea of the consistency from this picture.

New Essence Sheer and Shine Lipstick Review: Cute Nude & Candy Love!

I was at my local Shoppers Drug Mart the other day and whenever I'm there I always have to check out the Essence makeup display to see if they have anything new. That's when I saw their new Sheer and Shine lipsticks and I couldn't resist, so I grab a couple to share with you.

They had 9 shades to choose from and a nice range of colours from nudes to pinks and corals and deeper shades. I went for the two nudes that I knew I would get the most use of and it's a pretty safe bet that they'll suit me too.

I picked out #02 Cute Nude a nice sheer pinky nude and #12 Candy Love a sheer light berry toned pink with blue undertones.

Cute Nude (left) Candy Love (right)

Here they are swatched in daylight. Cute Nude is the paler colour and Candy Love is pinker.

The swatches here have been built up with a few swipes. One swipe would be much more sheer. Either way, you will not end up with an opaque lipstick look, which I'm not a huge fan of on myself.

I find that they are nice and moisturizing and they don't leave a stain. They are easily built up to get more colour (as pictured). They don't last too long as they have a balm-like texture. I find these are great everyday lipsticks to throw in my purse, and these are the kind of shades you can just slap on and go! They also don't settle into lip lines. I love them both but I like Candy Love a little bit more as it has more colour and I find that blue-based pinks really suit me.

If you have aging or even just dehydrated lips I think you would really like these. Same, if you have a lot of lip lines as I do and you can't pull off all the matte lip looks. I think this type of formula and these lighter colours are good for creating a more youthful look on the lips.

I'm really liking these and at only $3.49 you really can't go wrong. I'm generally a nude and pink lips kind of person, but if you want something a lot darker or deeper they have that too, they just won't be opaque. And, did I mention that Essence is cruelty-free!?

Have you tried any of these new lippies? If so, how do you like them?

Happy Valentines Day!

I just wanted to wish all my readers a very happy Valentine's day! No matter who you spend it with I hope you enjoy the day. My cat has agreed to be my Valentine again this year and I'm so grateful! He's not much of a cuddler though. Even if you don't have a Valentine this year, know that someone out there loves you, but more importantly , love yourself. Treat yourself to a spa day at home (I know I'm going to), or get that thing you've had your eye on for a while, and get yo'self some chocolate of course. You deserve it!  I always say, spoil yourself because no one else is going to. Maybe you're one of the lucky one's who gets spoiled by that special someone, in that case lucky you! But, we all deserve it, so if no one is spoiling you, go spoil yourself rotten!

Hope you have a great day!
