Monthly Empties: Makeup, Skincare, Health, Grocery

Another month flew by and my empties box is overflowing.

I will be as brief as I can with my thoughts on each item and let you know if I'd repurchase. As always I will provide links to products where possible in the name of the product. I have left out the prices as they are forever changing.

Skincare & Bath

This has been my go-to bubble bath for a long time. I love the scent and I get lots of bubbles. It's all natural too.

Repurchase- Yes

This is another product that I've been using for years. It's so refreshing and it comes out in a super-fine mist. I mainly use it during my skincare routine to dampen my skin in between layering products. It's also great to set your makeup and take away any powdery look. Also, fab to refresh anytime and for sunburn. It's all natural as well. One bottle lasts for about 6 months.

Repurchase- Yes

Peter Lamas Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser
This was just okay. It didn't do anything special for me, plus I've recently discovered my favourite facial cleanser of life which will be up in a post soon (hint: it's Live Clean's Hydrating facial cleanser).

Repurchase- No

This was a great skin cream, full review linked here. I believe this is around $80 and must be purchased from a spa.

Repurchase- Yes

Exfoliators

This came as part of a kit that I got from The Shopping Channel. I've had it since approximately 2011. It's not finished but I find it too harsh on my skin so I'm throwing it away. Most people LOVE this product, it has mostly 5-star rave reviews, so I guess I'm in the minority on this one.

Repurchase- No

Retin-A Micro Gel 0.04%
I get this with a prescription and luckily it's covered by my insurance as it's expensive. I don't get any side effects or peeling with this formula and strength. Not sure if I'm benefiting but I will continue to use it just in case.

Repurchase- Yes

Makeup

Amazon Makeup Sponge
This came in a makeup brush set. It was okay but I prefer my Real Techniques makeup sponges to this. Plus, with this being black I can't tell if it forms any mold or anything which freaks me out.

Repurchase- No

Marcelle Matte Finish Foundation (discontinued)
I never even finished this product. It had light coverage but was the wrong colour for me and it's now expired. I never used it as I'm more of a BB or CC cream type of gal.

Repurchase- No

Essence Lipstick "In The Nude" (discontinued)
This is their old formula of lipstick. The bullet fell off the other day and got smushed into the floor. It's all for the better, I never reached for it as I have other nudes that I like better.

Repurchase- No

I loved this mascara. It gave me nice big lashes and didn't flake or smudge. Full review linked here.

Repurchase- I would love to but it's not in my budget

Supplements

This is a fabulous multivitamin (they also have a men's formula). It's chocked full of vitamins, superfoods, greens, plus orchid fruits and veggies and more. Great if you're like me and don't always eat right. I do go between this and other vitamins as I love to rotate my vitamins and try new ones but I always come back to this.

Repurchase- Yes

Astaxanthin is a super antioxidant and supposedly the most powerful natural antioxidant known. This product claims to support joint & tendon health, eye & brain health, skin health, and recovery after exercise.  It's also free of gluten lactose, pesticides, herbicides etc. 100% vegan too. I did feel good while taking this but I'm rotating my supplements and currently trying resveratrol.

Repurchase- Yes

I found this on sale for $15 at Winners so I gave it a try. I didn't feel that it worked as well as my usual brand Healthy Origins , so I'll be going back to that one.

Repurchase- No

Grocery/Health

Now Foods Better Stevia Liquid Sweetener
This is my favourite stevia. I also have it in several other flavours. I like these the best as they don't have any bitterness. This one is also alcohol-free. It's very potent, only a couple of drops are needed for coffee, tea, or smoothies. I also use it in baking as it keeps things low sugar, low cal, and low carb. This bottle lasted about 2 years!

Repurchase- Yes

Madre Labs Cococeps Instant Organic Dark Cocoa
Yep, it's here again! My favourite organic dark cocoa powder which also has immune boosting cordyceps and reishi powders. I have this in my morning smoothie everyday. NO, you cannot taste the mushrooms! I have an aversion to mushrooms, so this is the only way that I get their health benefits which are many. USDA organic too!

Repurchase- Yes

Tru-Nut Powdered Peanut Butter- Chocolate
This is another Winners find. It tastes great mixed into my smoothies. It has 75 % less fat that peanut butter (although I'm not against fat). It's great for smoothies and baking. It's also non-gmo gluten-free.

Repurchase- Yes

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I used up this past month. What worked and what didn't.

ps.  Come and linkup for Monday Makeup Madness for more Blogger fun!

Happy April!

    1. I find it so hard to finish up my skincare since I'm always trialing new ones. Sadly, I had to throw some in the garbage the other day as they expired over a year ago. xoxo
