Weekly Makeup & Beauty Haul | Elf, Sally Hansen, Artis, Ebay With Swatches!

I thought I'd share my beauty purchases this week. I know most of us love a beauty haul, I know I do! Although, this haul is smaller than I thought (I feel like I purchased so much more this week.. must be from all the Christmas shopping). Despite this, I hope you enjoying seeing what I purchased. I'm really excited about all of these products and have a feeling many of them will become favourites. I will do a full review on some of these in upcoming posts.

Elf's Mad For Matte Eyeshadow Palette- $7.97CAD
I picked this up at Walmart for only $7.97. It normally retails for $10USD. It has 10 all matte shades ranging from cool to warm nude shades. I have a feeling I'll be reaching for this on the daily.

My initial impression is really good. The shadows swatched beautifully. They were soft and creamy. Not much kick up at all. Once I get to test this palette out on my eyeballs, I will share a full review.

Here are the colours swatched without primer. I did NOT have to build up the colour. Although it's hard to see the two lightest shades due to my skin tone. (Click HERE to purchase online).

*Elf is cruelty-free and vegan!

Elf's Brow Pencil in Neutral Brown- $2.97CAD
I also picked up this brow pencil on the same trip to Walmart. I've been on the hunt for a good brow product. I recently tried a pomade by Ardell, although I like it, it's taking some practice to work with it and I've tried two colours but neither of them are blending with my natural brow colour.

The colour of this Elf brow pencil is perfect for my brows! Most drugstore brow products are too warm, this is a nice ashy/brown shade. I also find that it's easier to use than the pomade. I'm just not sure about the staying power as this is just a first impression in this haul.

I love that it comes with a spoolie on one end and it has a protective cap that snaps over it. It also has a nice fine tip but I'm not sure how to keep it sharp after it's been used for a while. It's hard to believe this pencil is so inexpensive but I'm not complaining!

Sally Hansen Nail Polish in Orchid Around- $2.21CAD
This was another Walmart find. I have a thing with all shades of lavender nail polishes. But, when I saw this beauty I knew I didn't have a dupe for this shade. It's gorgeous and it's already my new favourite polish!

Artis Oval Tapered Makeup Brush Dupe "Circle 1"- .99cents USD
I purchased this brush on eBay for .99cents USD including shipping. It's supposed to be a dupe for the Artis Circle 1 brush, although I cannot confirm this as I don't own the Artis brush. I had heard that this brush is good for contouring small areas like the nose. We'll have to see how well it works.

I can confirm that the brushes are very dense and soft. I wash all my brushes before using them and it didn't shed any hairs. Despite the low price tag, it seems like great quality.

That's all that I purchased this week besides some Christmas shopping. I did get inspired and placed a small ELF order online the other day- haven't done that in years! They are having free shipping and there are a lot of promo codes going around online. I used the one to get a free full-sized baked eyeshadow palette and free shipping. I'm sure I'll share that haul once my order arrives.

Here is the code that I used to get free shipping and the free full-sized baked eyeshadow palette with ELF: BD4ytmXZ. It should be valid until December 31st. There are other codes online to get other promos if you want to find another deal.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I purchased this week!

Let me know what budget beauty products are your favourites. I get great recommendations from you guys!

  3. Nice one Amy - time for me to revisit Elf! I bought some cream eye shadows from them years ago and was disappointed as they never ever "set" and transferred to my hoods making an awful mess, but back then I didn't know about primers and setting powders, so I should give them another chance. Especially after seeing your swatches - whoa that pigmentation is awesome! Love the nail polish colour too xxx
